This work aims to provide a stepwise strategy for management of gastric cancer applicable to different levels of health-care resources in Asian countries, using the categories of basic, limited, enhanced, and maximum level.Abstract:
Summary Gastric cancer is the fourth most common cancer globally, and is the second most common cause of death from cancer worldwide. About three-quarters of newly diagnosed cases in 2008 were from Asian countries. With a high mortality-to-incidence ratio, management of gastric cancer is challenging. We discuss evidence for optimum management of gastric cancer in aspects of screening and early detection, diagnosis, and staging; endoscopic and surgical intervention; and the concepts of perioperative, postoperative, and palliative chemotherapy and use of molecularly targeted therapy. Recommendations are formulated on the basis of the framework provided by the Breast Health Global Initiative, using the categories of basic, limited, enhanced, and maximum level. We aim to provide a stepwise strategy for management of gastric cancer applicable to different levels of health-care resources in Asian countries.read more

Long-term effect of simplified dietary education on the nutritional status of patients after a gastrectomy.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of simplified dietary education on the nutritional status of patients after a gastrectomy and found that simplified, ordinary dietary education at regular outpatient clinic visits was ineffective in reducing weight loss after a subtotal gastrectoma.

Relationship between nutritional biomarkers and occlusal status in gastric cancer patients using the Eichner index
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors cross-sectionally investigated whether nutritional biomarkers were affected by the occlusal supporting zone status in gastric cancer patients and found that the Glasgow prognostic score (GPS), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, prognostic nutrition index (PNI), and controlling nutritional status (CONUT) were significantly different.

TL;DR: Two cases of gastric cancer are reported in which preoperative 3‐D CT gastrography and CT angiography fusion images enabled totally laparoscopic gastrectomy, and three‐dimensional fusion images can help in preoperative simulation of totally Laparoscopic Gastric cancer simulation.

A novel RNA modification prognostic signature for predicting the characteristics of the tumor microenvironment in gastric cancer
Qiangan Jing,Hongfeng Yao,Hua T. Li,Chen Yuan,Jiayu Hu,Ying Zhang,Yunyi Wu,Yi Zhou,Xueying Ren,Chen Yang,Guojie Lei,Jing Du,Xia Ke,Junfeng Xie,Xiangmin Tong +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper , an unsupervised clustering algorithm was used to identify three distinct RNA modification clusters and found that they participate in different biological pathways and starkly correlate with the clinicopathological characteristics, immune cell infiltration, and prognosis of GC patients.
