Calibration of the 936 nm water-vapor channel for the China aerosol remote sensing NETwork (CARSNET) and the effect of the retrieval water-vapor on aerosol optical property over Beijing, China

TL;DR: Based on measurements of the 936-nm water-vapor channel and the 870-nm, and 1020-nm atmospheric window band for the CE-318 sunphotometer of CARSNET, clear-sky direct solar radiation observational data and relative optical air masses of between 2 and 5, considering sensitivity parameters such as pressure, altitude, wavelength, and AOD936nm, which may affect the calibration result, a method to calibrate the 9 36-nm WV channel using a modified Langley method is presented.

LIDAR Atmospheric Sensing by Metal Vapor and Nd:YAG Lasers

TL;DR: A variety of ground-based, air-borne and space-borne LIDAR systems have been used for various applications in different fields of human activity, such as volcanic and fire alerting, laser ranging, altimetry and bathymetry, lidar mapping and forestry, coastal morphology and hazards assessment in geology, as well as for many other applications in physics and astronomy, nuclear fusion, military, aviation, robotics, transportation, etc as discussed by the authors.

Regional modeling of aerosols and ozone in the arctic : air quality and radiative impacts from local and remote pollution sources

Louis Marelle
TL;DR: In this article, regional simulations of the Arctic troposphere are performed with the WRF-Chem model, combined with new emission estimates for oil and gas extraction and shipping in the Arctic.

Physical and optical aerosol properties at the Dutch North Sea coast based on AERONET observations

TL;DR: Sun photometer measurements at the AERONET station at the North Sea coast in The Hague (The Nether- lands) provide a climatology of optical and physical aerosol properties for the area as discussed by the authors.

Time evolution of monomers and aggregates of a polymethine dye probe the dynamics of model vesicles and micelles

TL;DR: In this article, an anionic polymethine dye (a fluoro-oxonol abbreviated FDID) was used to probe the stability and dynamics of bicationic colloidal nanostructures, namely micelles and vesicles.
