Transmissometer versus sun photometer measurements of the aerosol optical properties

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compare the aerosol optical properties registered by two types of instruments, a standard 5-wavelength hand-held sun photometer yielding the vertical column extinction, and a 7wavelength transmissometer developed at TNO, providing horizontal, path-integrated transmission data at 7 wavelengths within the visible/infra red spectral range.

Physical and optical aerosol properties at the Dutch North Sea coast
