Optical anisotropy of aligned pentacene molecules on a rubbed polymer corresponding to the electrical anisotropy

TLDR
In this paper, the optical anisotropic properties of a pentacene film on a rubbed polyvinylalcohol (PVA) layer were investigated and the electrical performances of the OFETs were correlated with the optical properties of the PVA layer.

Influence of different aligning surfaces on the morphology of dichroic squaraine films

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the alignment of squaraine molecules on different aligning polymer surfaces, independent from the morphology of the Sq deposits, and found that Sq films grown on the aligned PTFE surfaces and on the nanostructured polycarbonate (PC) surfaces were found to exhibit dichroic optical absorption spectra.

The domain mixing effect on the electro-optical properties of liquid crystals using polyimide doped with reactive mesogen

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the domain mixing effect of vertical alignment polyimide (PI) doped with reactive mesogen (RM) to enhance the electro-optic properties of liquid crystal devices.

Precise Measurement of the Ultrasmall Optical Anisotropy of Rubbed Polyimide Using an Improved Reflection Ellipsometer

TL;DR: In this paper, a reflection ellipsometer was developed to measure the extremely small optical anisotropy of a rubbed polyimide alignment layer, without being disturbed by the residual anisotropic of the substrate.
