TLDR
It was demonstrated that 1% sucrose or 2% trehalose were suitable to maintain particle integrity after reconstitution of lyophilised PLGA nanoparticles, and showed notable changes in mean particle size, size distribution, and residual moisture content, depending on the composition of the formulation.

Transport of drugs across the blood-brain barrier by nanoparticles.

TL;DR: The delivery of drugs, which usually are not able to cross the BBB, into the brain was confirmed by the biodistribution studies and pharmacological assays in rodents, and the presence of nanoparticles in the brain parenchyma was visualized by electron microscopy, suggesting that this technology holds great promise for non-invasive therapy of the CNS diseases.

Melting and glass transitions of low molecular weight carbohydrates

TL;DR: In this article, the glass transition temperatures at various water contents (Tg) and in maximally freeze-concentrated solutions (T′g), fusion temperatures (melting points, Tf), and heats of fusion (ΔHf) were determined for pentoses, hexoses, disaccharides, and alditols, using differential scanning calorimetry.
