Novel Secoiridoid Glucosides in Olea europaea Leaves Suffering from Boron Deficiency

TL;DR: From the methanol extract of boron deficient Olea europaea leaves, two secoiridoid glycosides, not detected in leaf extracts of untreated plants, and 6′-E-p-coumaroyl-secologanoside, which were synthesized by the plant as a physiological response to nutrient stress were isolated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Essential Oil Compounds for Thrips Control – a Review

TL;DR: This review covers aspects of putting essential oil compounds to use either as allelochemicals that manipulate the host selection process of Thysanopteran pest species or as botanical insecticides that kill these pests.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sub-cellular trafficking of phytochemicals explored using auto-fluorescent compounds in maize cells.

TL;DR: The results suggest the presence of at least two distinct trafficking pathways, one to the cell wall and the other to the vacuole, for different auto-fluorescent compounds induced by the same transcription factor in maize BMS cells.

Lonicera Implexa Leaves Bearing Naturally Laid Eggs of the Specialist Herbivore Euphydryas Aurinia have Dramatically Greater Concentrations of Iridoid Glycosides than other Leaves

TL;DR: The hypothesis that the specialist butterfly Euphydryas aurinia lays eggs on leaves of Lonicera implexa plants with greater iridoid concentrations is tested, which may provide specialist herbivores with compounds that they either sequester for their own defense or use as a means of avoiding competition for food from generalist herbivore.

Changes of main secondary metabolites in leaves of Ginkgo biloba in response to ozone fumigation

TL;DR: The results showed that secondary compounds from G. biloba leaves responded to the Elevated O3 exposure in a different way when compared to previous studies which showed elevated O3 increased the concentrations of phenolics but had no effect on the terpenes in leaves of other deciduous trees.
