Photoelectron spectroscopy study of the inhibition of mild steel corrosion by molybdate and nitrite anions

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of passive films formed on mild steel in aqueous 8.6mM NaCl solutions (pH 8), containing either MoO 4 2 - or NO 2 -, and showed that these films are ∼5nm deep, and the primary chemical state of iron is Fe3+.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation, characterization, photoactivity and XPS studies of Ln2ZrTiO7 (Ln = Sm and Nd)

TL;DR: In this paper, the photocatalytic activity of oxides of composition Ln 2 ZrTiO 7 (Ln = Sm and Nd) was investigated using photodegradation of methyl orange under UV light irradiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface modification and characterization of indium-tin oxide for organic light-emitting devices.

TL;DR: Experimental results show that the ITO surface properties are closely related to the treatment methods, and the oxygen plasma is more efficient than the other treatments since it brings about smoother surfaces, lower sheet resistance, higher work function, and higher surface energy and polarity of theITO substrate.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Magnetization Studies of Iron–Vanadium Phosphate Glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, the core-level binding energies of O 1s, B 1s and Fe 2p have been measured with both O 1 s and B 1 s peaks shifting by about 2 eV towards smaller binding energies in the Fe-containing borate glasses while the 2p 3/2 and 2p 1/2 core levels for the glasses remain essentially unchanged from those of Fe2O3 powder.
Journal ArticleDOI

Associative oxygen species on the oxidized silver surface formed under O2 microwave excitation

TL;DR: In this paper, the experimental methods of X-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopies (XPS and UPS, respectively) and the quantum mechanical calculations are applied for analysis of oxygen states on the silver oxide surface.
