Journal ArticleDOI

Role of functional groups on the microwave attenuation and electric resistivity of activated carbon fiber cloth

TL;DR: In this article, carbon fiber cloth (ACFC) samples with select degrees of activation/porosity were treated with nitric and sulfuric acids or with hydrogen and the results indicated that conduction loss dominates over the polarization loss for microwave attenuation in ACFC.
Journal ArticleDOI

The investigation of oxidized silver nanoparticles prepared by thermal evaporation and radio-frequency sputtering of metallic silver under oxygen

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the chemical bonding of oxygen species stabilized on small particles differs from the oxygen species adsorbed on bulk silver surfaces (monocrystals, foils and large particles).
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparison of positive and negative ion static SIMS spectra of polymer surfaces

TL;DR: Negative ion static SIMS spectra are presented for several polymers whose positive ion spectra have been well characterized previously in this paper, which provides detailed information on polymer side chain and back-bone structure complementing and clarifying the information previously only obtainable from positive ion emission.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparison of plasma-activated N2∕O2 and N2O∕O2 mixtures for use in ZnO:N synthesis by chemical vapor deposition

TL;DR: In this paper, a high-vacuum plasma assisted chemical-vapor deposition system was used to systematically study ZnO:N thin film synthesis and showed that atomic nitrogen is the primary precursor for doping in this system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Air dielectric barrier discharges plasma surface treatment of three-dimensional braided carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composites

TL;DR: In this article, the surface properties of C 3D reinforced epoxy (C 3D /EP) composites were investigated using a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) in ambient air.
