Resolution and reconstitution of cytochrome P-450 containing steroid hydroxylation system of Rhizopus nigricans.

TLDR
It is shown that the presence of all three components was necessary for the reconstitution of the active electron transport chain in the eucaryotic filamentous fungus Rhizopus nigricans.

The biodiversity of microbial cytochromes P450

TL;DR: This review seeks to describe the historical development of CYP studies and to highlight the importance of the genes and proteins in pathways of secondary metabolism that include CYPs in oxidative tailoring of antibiotics, sometimes influencing potency as bioactive compounds.

Microbial transformations of steroids-XI. Progesterone transformation by Streptomyces roseochromogenes–purification and characterisation of the 16α-hydroxylase system

TL;DR: Yield data show that in the reconstituted natural pathway, progesterone 16alpha-hydroxylase P450 supports multiple rounds of hydroxylation in contrast to a likely single oxygenation by a minority of P450s in the peroxide shunt pathway.

Microbial transformations of steroids—X. Cytochromes P-450 11α-hydroxylase and C17–C20 lyase and a 1-ene dehydrogenase transform steroids in Nectria haematococca

TL;DR: Nectria haematococca contains four enzymes that metabolise exogenous steroids that act sequentially on progesterone producing firstly, by side-chain cleavage, the C19 steroid androstenedione (C17-C20 lyase), and then, in a subsequent set of transformations, 11 alpha-hydroxylated derivatives (11 alpha-Hydroxylase).

Properties of a Yeast Cytochrome P‐450‐Containing Enzyme System which Catalyzes the Hydroxylation of Fatty Acids, Alkanes, and Drugs

TL;DR: A yeast lysophosphati-dylethanolamine fraction was shown to be most effective as judged by laurate hydroxylation, and the yeast cytochrome P-450 is not readily autoxidizable, as shown by experiments in which it was reduced extensively by NADPH in the presence of phospholipid and the reductase under aerobic conditions.
