Uncontrolled transposition following RNAi loss causes hypermutation and antifungal drug resistance in clinical isolates of Cryptococcus neoformans

TL;DR: In this article , a collection of clinical and environmental C. neoformans isolates were assayed for increased mutation rates via fluctuation analysis, and two hypermutator genomes harbor a nonsense mutation in the RNA interference component ZNF3 and hundreds of Cnl1 elements organized into massive subtelomeric arrays on each of the fourteen chromosomes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Highly diastereoselective desymmetrisation of cyclic meso-anhydrides and derivatisation for use in natural product synthesis.

TL;DR: A new and efficient desymmetrisation of succinic and glutaric cyclic meso-anhydrides is described, providing excellent yields and diastereoselectivities in most cases.
Book ChapterDOI

Calcineurin inhibitors and the generalization of the presenting protein strategy.

TL;DR: A generalization of the mode of action of CsA and FK506 suggests a new approach for drug development, and these implications are also discussed in the chapter.

Pyrrolidine derivatives for vision and memory disorders

TL;DR: In this article, pharmaceutical compositions and methods for treating a vision disorder, improving vision, treating memory impairment, or enhancing memory performance using pyrrolidine derivatives are described. But they do not describe how to use them in a clinical setting.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation and identification of a FK-506 C36-C37 dihydrodiol from erythromycin-induced rabbit liver microsomes.

TL;DR: A new metabolite of FK-506 extracted from erythromycin-induced rabbit liver microsomes, isolated by normal-and reversed-phase HPLC chromatography, identified by FAB mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy is described.
