TLDR
A mutant of Aspergillus niger defective in ornithine transcarbamylase function was transformed with plasmids carrying a functional copy of the argB gene of As pergilli nidulans after treatment of spheroplasts in the presence of polyethylene glycol and calcium ions to insert any gene into the genome of A. niger.

Transformation of Aspergillus based on the hygromycin B resistance marker from Escherichia coli.

TL;DR: A new, heterologous, dominant marker for selection of Aspergillus transformants is described, based on the Escherichia coli hygromycin B (HmB) phosphotransferase gene (hph), which confers HmB resistance to As pergillus species.

A versatile transformation system for the cellulolytic filamentous fungus Trichoderma reesei

TL;DR: An efficient transformation system for the cellulolytic filamentous fungus Trichoderma reesei has been developed and the efficiency of co-transformation with unselected DNA was high.

On the safety of Aspergillus niger - a review

TL;DR: It is concluded that A. niger is a safe production organism and new and unknown isolates should be checked for ochratoxin A production before they are developed as production organisms.

Process for the production of protein products in aspergillus oryzae and a promoter for use in aspergillus

TL;DR: In this paper, a process for expression of a protein product in Aspergillus oryzae is disclosed, which enables industrial production of many different polypeptides and proteins.

Transformation of trichoderma

TL;DR: A vector system for transformation of Trichoderma has been developed in this article, which can be used for high expression and secretion of proteins in trichodermia by transformation of a suitable Trichoderm strain with the vector system comprising a gene for a desired protein.

The pUC plasmids, an M13mp7-derived system for insertion mutagenesis and sequencing with synthetic universal primers.

TL;DR: A series of plasmid vectors containing the multiple cloning site (MCS7) of M13mp7 has been constructed and a kanamycin-resistance marker has been inserted into the center of the symmetrical MCS7 to yield a restriction-site-mobilizing element (RSM).

Transformation of yeast

TL;DR: This work has used recently developed hybridization and restriction endonuclease mapping techniques to demonstrate directly the presence of the transforming DNA in the yeast genome and also to determine the arrangement of the sequences that were introduced.

Rapid and efficient cosmid cloning.

TL;DR: The method eliminates the need to size the insert DNA fragments and prevents formation of clones containing short or multiple inserts and a rapid and efficient method for preparing plasmid and cosmid DNA is described.

The induction and repression of nitrate reductase in the fungus Aspergillus nidulans.

TL;DR: The result of experiments indicate that the synthesis of nitrate reductase is induced by nitrate and repressed by ammonium, and no effect in vitro of ammonium could be found.

Isolation and characterisation of a yeast chromosomal replicator.

TL;DR: A yeast DNA sequence that behaves as a chromosomal replicator, ars1 (autonomously replicating sequence), has been isolated and allows autonomous replication of all co-linear DNA.
