Unique Properties of Halide Perovskites as Possible Origins of the Superior Solar Cell Performance
TLDR
Halide perovskites solar cells have the potential to exhibit higher energy conversion efficiencies with ultrathin films than conventional thin-film solar cells based on CdTe, CuInSe2 , and Cu2 ZnSnSe4.Abstract:
Halide perovskites solar cells have the potential to exhibit higher energy conversion efficiencies with ultrathin films than conventional thin-film solar cells based on CdTe, CuInSe2 , and Cu2 ZnSnSe4 . The superior solar-cell performance of halide perovskites may originate from its high optical absorption, comparable electron and hole effective mass, and electrically clean defect properties, including point defects and grain boundaries.read more

TL;DR: The grain boundaries were dimmer and exhibited faster nonradiative decay, and energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy showed a positive correlation between chlorine concentration and regions of brighter PL, whereas PL imaging revealed that chemical treatment with pyridine could activate previously dark grains.

Stabilizing Perovskite Structures by Tuning Tolerance Factor: Formation of Formamidinium and Cesium Lead Iodide Solid-State Alloys
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of alloying FA0.85Cs0.15PbI3 with CsPbIsI3 was investigated, and it was shown that the effective tolerance factor can be tuned and the stability of the photoactive α-phase of the mixed solid-state perovskite alloys FA1-xCsxPbisI3 is enhanced.
