Age-related fiber order in the optic tract of the ferret
TL;DR: It has been found that fiber order perpendicular to the pial surface represents the sequence of axon arrivals in the optic tract, the fibers furthest from the pia being the oldest.
Journal ArticleDOI
Consistent chromosome abnormalities identify novel polymicrogyria loci in 1p36.3, 2p16.1-p23.1, 4q21.21-q22.1, 6q26-q27, and 21q2

TL;DR: The clinical and brain imaging features, and results of cytogenetic and molecular genetic studies in 29 patients with polymicrogyria associated with structural chromosome rearrangements, are reported on and it is anticipated that these data will serve as the basis for ongoing efforts to identify the causal genes located in these regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Comparison of the types of mutations and their distribution along the gene in lethal versus non lethal phenotypes showed in MKS patients a significant enrichment of missense mutations falling in TMEM67 exons 8 to 15, especially when in combination with a truncating mutation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Periventricular heterotopia associated with chromosome 5p anomalies.
Volney L. Sheen,James W. Wheless,Adria Bodell,E. Braverman,Philip D. Cotter,Katherine A. Rauen,Orit A. Glenn,Kara Weisiger,Seymour Packman,Christopher A. Walsh,Elliott H. Sherr +10 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest a new PH locus along the telomeric end of chromosome 5p, which could cause subcortical heterotopia or focal gliosis in patients with complex partial seizures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clonal dispersion and evidence for asymmetric cell division in ferret cortex
TL;DR: The large proportion of single neuron clones, contrasted with the large size of multicell clones, suggests that some progenitors divide asymmetrically, producing a postmitotic neuron and regenerating a multipotential cell.
