Journal ArticleDOI
18F-flutemetamol amyloid imaging in Alzheimer disease and mild cognitive impairment : a phase 2 trial.
Rik Vandenberghe,Rik Vandenberghe,Koen Van Laere,Adrian Ivanoiu,Eric Salmon,Christine Bastin,Eric Triau,Steen G. Hasselbalch,Ian Law,Allan R. Andersen,Alex Korner,Lennart Minthon,Gaëtan Garraux,Natalie Nelissen,Guy Bormans,Christopher Buckley,Rikard Owenius,Lennart Thurfjell,Gill Farrar,David J. Brooks,David J. Brooks +20 more
TL;DR: Validation of the 18F‐labeled PIB derivative18F‐flutemetamol could significantly enhance access to in vivo β‐amyloid imaging technology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neural correlates of tic generation in Tourette syndrome: an event-related functional MRI study.
Stephan Bohlhalter,Andrew M. Goldfine,S. Matteson,Gaëtan Garraux,Takashi Hanakawa,Kenji Kansaku,Rachel Wurzman,Mark Hallett +7 more
TL;DR: The results of this study indicate that paralimbic and sensory association areas are critically implicated in tic generation, similar to movements triggered internally by unpleasant sensations, as has been shown for pain or itching.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neural correlates of anosognosia for cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease
Eric Salmon,Daniela Perani,Karl Herholz,Patricia Marique,Elke Kalbe,Vjera Holthoff,Xavier Delbeuck,Bettina Beuthien-Baumann,Oriana Pelati,Oriana Pelati,Solange Lespagnard,Fabienne Collette,Gaëtan Garraux +12 more
TL;DR: The neural substrate of anosognosia for cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease (AD) is explored and a patient's self assessment, unconfounded by objective measurements of cognitive deficits such as dementia severity and episodic memory impairment, provided an estimate of impaired self‐evaluative judgment about cognition in AD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in brain anatomy in focal hand dystonia.
Gaëtan Garraux,Gaëtan Garraux,Andrew J. Bauer,Takashi Hanakawa,Tao Wu,Kenji Kansaku,Mark Hallett +6 more
TL;DR: A significant bilateral increase in gray matter in the hand representation area of primary somatosensory and, to a lesser extent, primary motor cortices in 36 patients with unilateral FHD compared with 36 controls suggests that these disturbances may be primary.
Journal ArticleDOI
Large-scale replication and heterogeneity in Parkinson disease genetic loci
Manu Sharma,John P. A. Ioannidis,Jan O. Aasly,Grazia Annesi,Alexis Brice,Christine Van Broeckhoven,Lars Bertram,Maria Bozi,David Crosiers,Carl E Clarke,Maurizio F. Facheris,Matthew J. Wszolek,Georgia Xiromerisiou,Kuo Chu Yueh,Yi Zhao,Thomas Gasser,Demetrius M. Maraganore,Rejko Krüger +54 more
TL;DR: This study allows insight into the distribution of newly identified genetic factors contributing to PD and shows that large-scale evaluation in diverse populations is important to understand the role of population-specific heterogeneity.
