Journal ArticleDOI
Single photon emission computed tomography with [99Tc]-HM-PAO and [123I]-IBZM in Alzheimer's disease and dementia of frontal type: preliminary results.
Giovanni B. Frisoni,Gilberto Pizzolato,A. Bianchetti,F. Chierichetti,Giorgio Ferlin,Leontino Battistin,M. Trabucchi +6 more
TL;DR: Results suggest more marked involvement of the frontal cortical dopaminergic system in DFT than in AD patients, and both in AD and DFT patients, [99Tc]‐HM‐PAO SPECT showed a relative frontal hypoperfusion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Validation study of a CT-based weighted rating scale for subcortical ischemic vascular disease in patients with mild cognitive deterioration.
TL;DR: This CT-based visual rating scale is valid and sensitive to capture different degrees of SIVD associated with mild cognitive deterioration, and increased linearly with increasing subcortical vascular class.
Journal ArticleDOI
Automated voxel-by-voxel tissue classification for hippocampal segmentation: methods and validation.
Sabina Tangaro,Nicola Amoroso,Nicola Amoroso,Marina Boccardi,Stefania Bruno,Andrea Chincarini,G Ferraro,G Ferraro,Giovanni B. Frisoni,Rosalia Maglietta,Alberto Redolfi,Luca Rei,Andrea Tateo,Roberto Bellotti,Roberto Bellotti +14 more
TL;DR: This study presents a fully automated pattern recognition system for an accurate and reproducible segmentation of the hippocampus in structural Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) on a mixed cohort of 56 T1-weighted structural brain images.
Journal ArticleDOI
Distinct neuroanatomical correlates of neuropsychiatric symptoms in the three main forms of genetic frontotemporal dementia in the GENFI Cohort
Leila Sellami,Martina Bocchetta,Mario Masellis,David M. Cash,Katrina M. Dick,John C. van Swieten,Barbara Borroni,Daniela Galimberti,Maria Carmela Tartaglia,James B. Rowe,Caroline Graff,Caroline Graff,Fabrizio Tagliavini,Giovanni B. Frisoni,E Finger,Alexandre de Mendonça,Sandro Sorbi,Jason D. Warren,Jonathan D. Rohrer,Robert Laforce,Genfi Genetic Ftd Initiative +20 more
TL;DR: The findings support overlapping brain structural changes between FTD and primary psychiatric disorders, and appear to be distinct across the main forms of genetic FTD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictors of cognitive improvement after reality orientation in Alzheimer's disease
Orazio Zanetti,Monica Oriani,Cristina Geroldi,Giuliano Binetti,Giovanni B. Frisoni,Giuseppina Di Giovanni,Luc P. De Vreese +6 more
TL;DR: A lower mini mental state examination and the absence of euphoric behaviour in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease may predict a good cognitive outcome of reality orientation therapy.
