Journal ArticleDOI
Functional compensation in incipient Alzheimer's disease.
Anna Caroli,Cristina Geroldi,Flavio Nobili,L.R. Barnden,Ugo Paolo Guerra,Matteo Bonetti,Giovanni B. Frisoni +6 more
TL;DR: In AD, a perfusional compensatory mechanism takes place in the neocortex, while perfusional depression occurs in the medial temporal lobe, which helps understand the reactive phenomena induced by the brain to try and counteract the pathological changes of AD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of Bioinformatics Pipelines and Operating Systems for the Analyses of 16S rRNA Gene Amplicon Sequences in Human Fecal Samples.
Moira Marizzoni,Thomas Gurry,Stefania Provasi,Gilbert Greub,Nicola Lopizzo,Federica Ribaldi,Cristina Festari,Monica Mazzelli,Elisa Mombelli,Marco Salvatore,Peppino Mirabelli,Monica Franzese,Andrea Soricelli,Giovanni B. Frisoni,Annamaria Cattaneo +14 more
TL;DR: The use of different bioinformatic pipelines affects the estimation of the relative abundance of gut microbial community, indicating that studies using different pipelines cannot be directly compared.
Journal ArticleDOI
White matter hyperintensities in progranulin-associated frontotemporal dementia: A longitudinal GENFI study

TL;DR: Investigation of longitudinal change in WMH and the associations of WMH burden with grey matter (GM) loss, markers of neurodegeneration and cognitive function in GRN mutation carriers revealed that WMH load was higher in both symptomatic and presymptomatic groups compared with controls and this load increased over time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence and predictors of depressive symptoms in a nursing home
TL;DR: The data support the hypothesis that specific emotional adjustments can be found even in the apparently static environment of the nursing home, and increasing GDS score was independently associated with decreasing basic activities of daily living, increasing number of clinical problems and younger age.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abnormalities in functional connectivity in borderline personality disorder: Correlations with metacognition and emotion dysregulation
Giulia Quattrini,Lorenzo Pini,Michela Pievani,Laura R Magni,Mariangela Lanfredi,Clarissa Ferrari,Marina Boccardi,Stefano Bignotti,Silvia Magnaldi,Milena Cobelli,Luciana Rillosi,Rossella Beneduce,Giuseppe Rossi,Giovanni B. Frisoni,Roberta Rossi +14 more
TL;DR: Functional connectivity in BPD patients and its association with BPD clinical features was assessed, with patients showing significant lower mean FC in the DMN and SN, while, at the local level, a cluster of lower functional connectivity emerged in the posterior cingulate cortex of theDMN.
