Journal ArticleDOI
Enrichment through biomarkers in clinical trials of Alzheimer's drugs in patients with mild cognitive impairment.
Marco Lorenzi,Michael C. Donohue,Donata Paternicò,Cristina Scarpazza,Susanne Ostrowitzki,Olivier Blin,Elaine A. Irving,Giovanni B. Frisoni +7 more
TL;DR: Enrichment comes at the price of an often relevant proportion of screened out cases, and in clinical trial settings, the balance between enrichment of screened in and loss of screening out patients should be critically discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Atypical dementia associated with a novel presenilin-2 mutation.
Giuliano Binetti,Simona Signorini,Rosanna Squitti,Antonella Alberici,Luisa Benussi,Emanuele Cassetta,Giovanni B. Frisoni,Laura Barbiero,Enrica Feudatari,Francesca Nicosia,Cristina Testa,Orazio Zanetti,Massimo Gennarelli,Daniela Perani,Davide Anchisi,Roberta Ghidoni,Paolo Maria Rossini +16 more
TL;DR: An Italian pedigree with hereditary dementia associated with a novel T122R mutation in the presenilin‐2 gene (PSEN2) consistent with an atypical form of dementia is described, suggesting the importance of still unknown biological and perhaps environmental factors in the disease determination.
Journal ArticleDOI
Progression of Alzheimer Disease in Europe: Data from the European ICTUS Study
Bruno Vellas,Lucrezia Hausner,Lutz Frölich,C. Cantet,V. Gardette,Emma Reynish,S. Gillette,E. Aguera-Morales,S. Auriacombe,Mercè Boada,Roger Bullock,J. Byrne,Vincent Camus,Antonio Cherubini,M. Andrieu +36 more
TL;DR: European geographical location reflecting differences in culture and in health care system does not impact on the progression of AD but does influence the management of AD subjects and caregiver burden.
Journal ArticleDOI
Specific EEG changes associated with atrophy of hippocampus in subjects with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease.
Davide V. Moretti,Annapaola Prestia,Claudia Fracassi,G. Binetti,Orazio Zanetti,Giovanni B. Frisoni +5 more
TL;DR: Results show that the increase of alpha3/alpha2 power ratio is correlated with atrophy of hippocampus both in MCI and in Alzheimer's disease patients, which confirms the possible diagnostic role of EEG markers as diagnostic and prognostic factors in patient with prodromal and declared Alzheimer's Disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Harmonized benchmark labels of the hippocampus on magnetic resonance: The EADC-ADNI project
Martina Bocchetta,Marina Boccardi,Rossana Ganzola,Liana G. Apostolova,Gregory M. Preboske,Dominik Wolf,Clarissa Ferrari,Patrizio Pasqualetti,Nicolas Robitaille,Simon Duchesne,Clifford R. Pruessner,Hilkka Soininen,Lei Wang +23 more
TL;DR: The aim was to produce benchmark labels based on the HarP for manual segmentation based on magnetic resonance for Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative benchmark labels.
