Factors related to length of stay in a Geriatric Evaluation and Rehabilitation Unit

TL;DR: The association of longer length of stay with greater comorbidity was enhanced by impairment in gait and balance (Tinetti <18) and malnutrition (PNI >45) and data suggest that the length ofStay in hospital is related to comorbbidity in patients with conditions of physical and biomedical frailty.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dementia imaging in clinical practice: a European-wide survey of 193 centres and conclusions by the ESNR working group.

TL;DR: Current practice in dementia imaging is fairly homogeneous across Europe, in terms of image acquisition and image interpretation, and hurdles identified include training on the use of visual rating scales, implementation of volumetric assessment and structured reporting.
Journal ArticleDOI

Discovery and validation of plasma proteomic biomarkers relating to brain amyloid burden by SOMAscan assay

Liu Shi, +63 more
TL;DR: Plasma proteins have been widely studied as candidate biomarkers to predict brain amyloid deposition to increase recruitment efficiency in secondary prevention clinical trials for Alzheimer's disease but most studies are targeted to specific proteins or are biased toward high abundant proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Corticobasal degeneration: neuropsychological assessment and dopamine D2 receptor SPECT analysis.

TL;DR: It is suggested that a postsynaptic lesion in the basal ganglia might account for the lack of response of extrapyramidal motor symptoms to dopaminergic agonists in corticobasal degeneration.
