Journal ArticleDOI
A G-CSF receptor-gyrase B fusion gene: A new type of molecular switch for expansion of genetically modified hematopoietic cells.
TL;DR: The results suggest the feasibility of using Gyr as a molecular switch to regulate a growth signal in hematopoietic cells and circumvent possible concerns with the Er/estrogen switching system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of the PML/RARα fusion gene in acute promyelocytic leukemia with a complex translocation involving chromosomes 15, 17, and 18
Seishi Ogawa,Kinuko Mitani,Yuko Sato,Kouichi Sugimoto,Hideo Toyoshima,Hiroyuki Mano,Fumimaro Takaku,Yoshio Yazaki,Hisamaru Hirai +8 more
TL;DR: Findings support the notion that this fusion of PML/RAR alpha fusion gene is of crucial importance to leukemogenesis of APL.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ectopic expression of Klotho in fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23)-producing tumors that cause tumor-induced rickets/osteomalacia (TIO)
Yuka Kinoshita,Yuichi Takashi,Nobuaki Ito,Shiro Ikegawa,Hiroyuki Mano,Tetsuo Ushiku,Masashi Fukayama,Masaomi Nangaku,Seiji Fukumoto +8 more
TL;DR: An RNA sequencing analysis of a PMTMCT that was found in the left parotid gland of a patient with TIO is performed, assuming that the ectopic expression of Klotho in PTMMCTs enables a positive feedback loop in FGF23 production via the activation of FGF receptor 1c and exacerbates disease manifestations in TIO.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mutations in the Nucleolar Phosphoprotein, Nucleophosmin, Promote the Expression of the Oncogenic Transcription Factor MEF/ELF4 in Leukemia Cells and Potentiates Transformation
Koji Ando,Hideki Tsushima,Emi Matsuo,Kensuke Horio,Shinya Tominaga-Sato,Daisuke Imanishi,Yoshitaka Imaizumi,Masako Iwanaga,Hidehiro Itonaga,Shinichiro Yoshida,Tomoko Hata,Ryozo Moriuchi,Hitoshi Kiyoi,Stephen D. Nimer,Hiroyuki Mano,Tomoki Naoe,Masao Tomonaga,Yasushi Miyazaki +17 more
TL;DR: A mechanism by which Myeloid ELF1-like factor may be activated by a common leukemia-associated mutation in the nucleophosmin gene is reported, suggesting that enhanced HDM2 expression induced by mutant NPM1 may have a role in MEF/ELF4-dependent leukemogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transforming activity of purinergic receptor P2Y, G-protein coupled, 2 revealed by retroviral expression screening.
Hisashi Hatanaka,Shuji Takada,Young Lim Choi,Shin-ichiro Fujiwara,Manabu Soda,Munehiro Enomoto,Kentaro Kurashina,Hideki Watanabe,Yoshihiro Yamashita,Kentaro Sugano,Hiroyuki Mano +10 more
TL;DR: A retroviral cDNA expression library from a CRC cell line RKO is constructed and used for a focus formation assay with mouse 3T3 fibroblasts, leading to the identification of 42 independent cDNAs, which encode purinergic receptor P2Y, G-protein coupled, 2 (P2RY2).
