Dicer Plays Essential Roles for Retinal Development by Regulation of Survival and Differentiation
TL;DR: Results show that Dicer is essential during early retinal development, using retina-specific conditional knockout of Dicer in mice for survival, proliferation, and differentiation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recurrent CDC25C mutations drive malignant transformation in FPD/AML
Akihide Yoshimi,Takashi Toya,Masahito Kawazu,Toshihide Ueno,Ayato Tsukamoto,Hiromitsu Iizuka,Masahiro Nakagawa,Yasuhito Nannya,Shunya Arai,Hironori Harada,Kensuke Usuki,Yasuhide Hayashi,Etsuro Ito,Keita Kirito,Hideaki Nakajima,Motoshi Ichikawa,Hiroyuki Mano,Mineo Kurokawa +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that CDC25C mutations are frequently found in FPD/AML patients and is a novel gene target identified in haematological malignancies, useful as a clinical biomarker that predicts progression of FPD-AML in the early stage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of mechanically induced genes in human monocytic cells by DNA microarrays.
TL;DR: The present study demonstrates that human monocytic cells respond to mechanical deformation with induction of immediate-early and inflammatory genes, and suggests that mechanical stress in vivo, such as that associated with hypertension, may play an important part in atherogenesis and instability of coronary artery plaques, through biomechanical effects on vascular macrophages.
Journal ArticleDOI
An intronic variable number of tandem repeat polymorphisms of the cold-induced autoinflammatory syndrome 1 (CIAS1) gene modifies gene expression and is associated with essential hypertension.
Toshinori Omi,Maki Kumada,Toyomi Kamesaki,Hiroshi Okuda,Lkhagvasuren Munkhtulga,Yoshiko Yanagisawa,Nanami Utsumi,Takaya Gotoh,Akira Hata,Masayoshi Soma,Satoshi Umemura,Toshio Ogihara,Norio Takahashi,Yasuharu Tabara,Kazuyuki Shimada,Hiroyuki Mano,Eiji Kajii,Tetsuro Miki,Sadahiko Iwamoto +18 more
TL;DR: This is the first genetic study indicating an association between the CIAS1 gene and susceptibility to essential hypertension (EH), and it is proposed here the CIas1 is associated with EH through the dominant expression of transcripts, which may depend on theCIAS1-VNTR genotype.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tec protein-tyrosine kinase is involved in interleukin-3 signaling pathway.
TL;DR: 5′-terminal diversity of the tec messages is investigated to demonstrate a predominant form of the Tec protein in mouse hematopoietic cell lines and it is concluded that Tec is involved in the signaling pathway of IL-3.
