Bandgap tuning in armchair MoS2 nanoribbon

TL;DR: It seems that the two fields exhibit different modulation effects on the gap, as the critical strength of perpendicular field for gap closure decreases with increasing number of layers, while thecritical strength of transverse field is almost independent of it.
Journal ArticleDOI

Doping induced spin filtering effect in zigzag graphene nanoribbons with asymmetric edge hydrogenation

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic and spin dependent transport properties of asymmetrically hydrogenated zigzag graphene nanoribbons are investigated from first-principles calculations, and a perfect (100%) spin filtering effect can be achieved in such graphene nanorsibbons through p-type or n-type doping.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self-Assembly High-Performance UV-vis-NIR Broadband β-In2Se3/Si Photodetector Array for Weak Signal Detection.

TL;DR: A scalable production of β-In2Se3/Si heterojunction arrays using pulsed-laser deposition offers a new insight into the rational design of optoelectronic devices from the synergetic effect of layered materials as well as mature semiconductor technology.
Journal ArticleDOI

Indirect-to-direct band gap transition of the ZrS2 monolayer by strain: first-principles calculations

TL;DR: In this article, the elastic, electronic and optical properties of the ZrS2 monolayer and the effects of different kinds of in-plane strains on its electronic structure are investigated using first-principles method.
