Journal ArticleDOI

Association between a deletion/insertion polymorphism in the α2B-adrenergic receptor gene and insulin secretion and Type 2 diabetes. The Finnish Diabetes Prevention Study

TL;DR: The 12Glu9 polymorphism of ADRA2B is associated with impaired first-phase insulin secretion and may predict the development of Type 2 diabetes in subjects with impaired glucose tolerance who are not subjected to a lifestyle intervention.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental autoimmune myasthenia gravis.

TL;DR: Injection of animals with purified acetylcholine receptor in complete Freund's adjuvant causes development of antibodies which crossreact with receptors in muscle, which impair neuromuscular transmission.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regulation of Antibody Production by Helper T Cell Clones in Experimental Autoimmune Myasthenia Gravis Is Mediated by IL-4 and Antigen-Specific T Cell Factors

TL;DR: Supernatant-mediated help may not be due solely to IL-4, and other factors, possibly including some fragment of the T cell antigen receptor present in the supernatant, appear to contribute to helping antibody production by B cells.
