Study of frog sartorius muscle acetylcholine receptor using the irreversible inhibitor TDF.

TL;DR: It is shown that specific reversible binding of the trimethylammonium group of TDF to the receptor plays little or no role in the irreversible reaction of T DF with the receptor, which accounts for the extremely low specificity of its reaction with the receptors.

Acetylcholine receptors and myasthenia gravis: the effect of antibodies to eel acetylcholine receptors on eel electric organ cells.

TL;DR: Although antibodies could bind to most of the receptors, resulting in substantial inhibition of the depolarizing response, binding of 125-I-alpha-bungarotoxin to the cells was only slightly inhibited, suggesting that the antibodies inhibited receptor activity primarily by interfering with the ionophore of the receptor or its regulation by the acetylcholine binding site.

Promoting activity of (α4)3(β2)2 nicotinic cholinergic receptors reduces ethanol consumption.

TL;DR: It is concluded that compounds targeting the (α4)3(β2)2 subtype of nAChRs can reduce alcohol consumption, and when administered in combination with varenicline, may allow use of lower varennicline doses to decrease varencline side effects.
