TL;DR: It is suggested that leukocyte DNA adducts may predict lung cancer risk of never-smokers and a positive association was found between DNAAdducts and ozone (O3) concentration, which indicates a possible role for photochemical smog in determining DNA damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurements of Breast Density: No Ratio for a Ratio
TL;DR: Compared with previous studies, the influence of BMI on relative density was completely due to an effect on nondense tissue, and inferences about the etiology of breast density should be made on the basis of absolute measures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fruits and vegetables and prostate cancer: no association among 1104 cases in a prospective study of 130544 men in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC).

Gann,Rudolf Kaaks,Pietro Ferrari,Elio Riboli +33 more
TL;DR: Total consumption of fruits and vegetables is not associated with the risk for prostate cancer, and intake of cruciferous vegetables was not associatedWith risk.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Plasma levels of carotenoids vary substantially between 16 different regions in Italy, Greece, Spain, France, Germany, the UK, Sweden, Denmark and The Netherlands, and the relative influence of gender, season, age, body mass index, alcohol intake and smoking status is investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Evidence is provided that elevated CRP concentrations are related to a higher risk of colon cancer but not rectal cancer, predominantly among men and independently of obesity, insulin resistance, and dyslipidemia.
