González,Nadia Slimani,Mireia Obón-Santacana,Pietro Ferrari,Heinz Freisling,Kim Overvad,Françoise Clavel-Chapelon,Marie-Christine Boutron-Ruault,Antoine Racine,Verena Katzke,Tilman Kühn,Anne Tjønneland,Anja Olsen,J. TL;DR: In the EPIC cohort, an association between estimated dietary acrylamide intake and an increased risk of developing EC was observed in the middle quartiles but not in the highest quartile; however, results from other larger cohorts or consortia, and results from biomarker studies, might add to the evidence provided by this analysis, suggesting that acryamide is not an important risk factor for EC.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the association between prediagnostic concentrations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] and 1,25-dihydroxyv vitamin D [1,25 (OH)2D], and the risk of prostate cancer overall and by tumor characteristics.

TL;DR: The findings suggest no association between alcohol intake and endometrial cancer risk is found.
Journal ArticleDOI
Compliance to clinical guidelines for early-stage epithelial ovarian cancer in relation to patient outcome.
Edith A. Sijmons,Marieke A.L. van Lankveld,Petronella O. Witteveen,Petra H.M. Peeters,Veronica C.M. Koot,Jules H. Schagen van Leeuwen +5 more
TL;DR: Incomplete staging in early-stage ovarian cancer leads to gross mis-classification in grade II and III tumours and to a lesser extent in grade I tumours, which leads to undertreatment in both surgical and adjuvant therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mortality and cancer incidence in the EPIC-NL cohort: impact of the healthy volunteer effect.
Ellen A. Struijk,Ellen A. Struijk,Anne M. May,Joline W.J. Beulens,Carla H. van Gils,Evelyn M. Monninkhof,Yvonne T. van der Schouw,Monique W. M. Verschuren,Jolanda M. A. Boer,Bas Bueno-de-Mesquita,Bas Bueno-de-Mesquita,Petra H.M. Peeters +11 more
TL;DR: The results show a healthy volunteer effect in the EPIC-NL cohort, which tapers off with longer follow-up, and power might not be sufficient to detect small associations in the first years of follow- up.
