Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of volumetric breast density on the risk of screen-detected and interval breast cancers: a cohort study

TL;DR: The results suggest that both absolute dense volume and percentage dense volume are strong markers of breast cancer risk, but that they are even stronger markers for predicting the occurrence of tumors that are not detected during mammography breast cancer screening.
Journal ArticleDOI

Air pollution and incidence of cancers of the stomach and the upper aerodigestive tract in the European Study of Cohorts for Air Pollution Effects (ESCAPE).

TL;DR: This large multicentre cohort study shows an association between long‐term exposure to PM2.5 and gastric cancer, but not UADT cancers, suggesting that air pollution may contribute to Gastric cancer risk.
Journal ArticleDOI

Validation of previously identified serum biomarkers for breast cancer with SELDI-TOF MS: a case control study

TL;DR: This study validate three proteins previously reported to be discriminative between breast cancer cases and healthy controls with surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (SELDI-TOF MS).
Journal ArticleDOI

Coffee and tea consumption and the risk of ovarian cancer: a prospective cohort study and updated meta-analysis

TL;DR: Investigation of whether coffee intakes, tea intakes, or both are associated with the risk of epithelial ovarian cancer found no evidence of an association and epidemiologic studies do not provide sufficient evidence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Risk of endometrial cancer in relationship to cigarette smoking: results from the EPIC study.

TL;DR: The reduction of endometrial cancer risk observed among postmenopausal women does not have direct public health relevance since cigarette smoking is the main known risk factor for cancer.
