Two polybasic domains of septin9 control septin filaments assembly and Golgi integrity
Mohyeddine Omrane,Mohyeddine Omrane,Mohyeddine Omrane,Amanda Souza Camara,Cyntia Taveneau,Nassima Benzoubir,Nassima Benzoubir,Thibault Tubiana,Jinchao Yu,Jinchao Yu,Raphael Guerois,Raphael Guerois,Didier Samuel,Didier Samuel,Bruno Goud,Christian Poüs,Christian Poüs,Stéphane Bressanelli,Richard Charles Garratt,Abdou Rachid Thiam,Ama Gassama-Diagne,Ama Gassama-Diagne +21 more
TL;DR: It is found that septin 9 has a second polybasic domain (PB2) conserved in the human septin family that controls the assembly and functionality of the Golgi apparatus and brings novel insights into the role of septins in organelle morphology.

Optimal Anchoring of a Urea-based Foldamer Inhibitor of ASF1 Histone Chaperone Through Backbone Plasticity
Johanne Mbianda,May Bakail,Christophe André,Gwenaëlle Moal,Marie E. Perrin,Raphael Guerois,François Becher,Pierre Legrand,Seydou Traoré,Céline Douat,Gilles Guichard,Françoise Ochsenbein +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the structural plasticity of a foldamer backbone may significantly contribute to the required spatial adjustment for optimal interaction with the protein surface.

Disordered regions and folded modules in CAF-1 promote histone deposition in S. pombe
Maxime J. C. Audin,Karine Fréon,Jean-Pierre Quivy,Aurelien Thureau,Virginie Ropars,Paloma F. Varela,Gwenaëlle Moal,Y. Legrand,Jessica Andreani,Raphael Guerois,Geneviève Almouzni,Sarah Lambert,François Ochsenbein +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the structure of CAF-1 was characterized using NMR, SAXS and molecular modeling, and it was shown that both histone and DNA binding are required for its functions in vitro and in vivo.

Mechanism of DNA unwinding by hexameric MCM8-9 in complex with HROB
Ananya Acharya,Hélène Bret,Jen-Wei Huang,Martin Mütze,Martin Göse,Vera M. Kissling,Ralf Seidel,Alberto Ciccia,Raphael Guerois,Petr Cejka +9 more
TL;DR: The human MCM8-9 helicase functions in concert with HROB in the context of homologous recombination, but its precise function is unknown as discussed by the authors , but it is known that HROB makes important contacts with both MCM 8 and MCM 9 subunits, which directly promotes its DNA-dependent ATPase and helicase activities.
From interaction networks to interfaces: Scanning intrinsically disordered regions using AlphaFold2
TL;DR: In this paper , the AlphaFold2-Multimer achieved a 40% success rate in identifying the correct site and the structure of the interface of a protein-protein interaction network.
