Journal ArticleDOI
Very Early Brain Damage Leads to Remodeling of the Working Memory System in Adulthood: A Combined fMRI/Tractography Study.
Sean Froudist-Walsh,Vyacheslav Karolis,Chiara Caldinelli,Philip J. Brittain,Jasmin Kroll,Elisa Rodríguez-Toscano,Marcello Tesse,Matthew Colquhoun,Oliver D. Howes,Flavio Dell'Acqua,Michel Thiebaut de Schotten,Robin M. Murray,Steven Williams,Chiara Nosarti +13 more
TL;DR: It is found that adults who suffered PBI did not significantly differ from controls in working memory performance, and this provides the first evidence of compensatory plasticity of the working memory network following PBI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic overlap between episodic memory deficits and schizophrenia: results from the Maudsley Twin Study
Sheena Owens,Marco Picchioni,Fruhling Rijsdijk,Daniel Stahl,Evangelos Vassos,A. K. Rodger,David A. Collier,Robin M. Murray,Timothea Toulopoulou +8 more
TL;DR: Verbal memory and visual learning and memory are moderately heritable, share a genetic overlap with schizophrenia and are valid endophenotypes for the condition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Psychiatric disorder in young adults born very preterm: Role of family history
Muriel Walshe,Larry Rifkin,M Rooney,E. Healy,Chiara Nosarti,John S. Wyatt,Daniel Stahl,Robin M. Murray,Matthew Allin +8 more
TL;DR: Individuals born very preterm are at increased risk of psychiatric illness in young adulthood compared to controls and a family history of psychiatric disorder in a first-degree relative may leave young adults born VPT particularly vulnerable to psychiatric illness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Minor physical anomalies in patients with first-episode psychosis: their frequency and diagnostic specificity
Tuhina Lloyd,Paola Dazzan,Kimberlie Dean,S.B.G. Park,Paul Fearon,Gillian A. Doody,Jane Tarrant,Kevin Morgan,Craig Morgan,Gerard Hutchinson,Julian Leff,Glynn Harrison,Robin M. Murray,Peter B. Jones +13 more
TL;DR: The topographical distribution of MPAs in this study is suggestive of an insult occurring during organogenesis in the first trimester of pregnancy, suggesting a common developmental pathway for non-affective and affective psychoses.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: An investigation was carried out into first admissions to, and all discharges from Scottish psychiatric inpatient beds of male doctors and other social class I males who had a primary diagnosis of alcoholism.
