The Marine Microbial Eukaryote Transcriptome Sequencing Project (MMETSP): Illuminating the Functional Diversity of Eukaryotic Life in the Oceans through Transcriptome Sequencing

Patrick J. Keeling, +89 more
- 24 Jun 2014 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a resource of 700 transcriptomes from marine microbial eukaryotes to help understand their role in the world's oceans and their biology, evolution, and ecology.

The Marine Microbial Eukaryote Transcriptome Sequencing Project (MMETSP)

TL;DR: This Community Page describes a resource of 700 transcriptomes from marine microbial eukaryotes to help understand their role in the world's oceans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization and classification of highly productive microalgae strains discovered for biofuel and bioproduct generation

TL;DR: The characteristics of microalgal strains that originated out of an isolation and screening project included within the National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts (NAABB) are described, some of which have been tested successfully in outdoor ponds and most of which are deposited at the University of Texas Culture Collection of Algae.
Journal ArticleDOI

A pangenomic analysis of the Nannochloropsis organellar genomes reveals novel genetic variations in key metabolic genes.

TL;DR: Many organellar gene modifications in Nannochloropsis are unique and deviate from conserved orthologs found across the tree of life, and implementation of secondary and tertiary structure prediction was crucial to functionally characterize many proteins and therefore should be implemented in automated annotation pipelines.
