TL;DR: The construction of the whole-genome bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) map and its integration with previous landmark maps and information from mapping efforts focused on specific chromosomal regions are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
A wellness study of 108 individuals using personal, dense, dynamic data clouds.
Nathan D. Price,Andrew T. Magis,John C. Earls,Gustavo Glusman,Roie Levy,Christopher Lausted,Daniel McDonald,Ulrike Kusebauch,Christopher L. Moss,Yong Zhou,Shizhen Qin,Robert L. Moritz,Kristin Brogaard,Gilbert S. Omenn,Gilbert S. Omenn,Jennifer C. Lovejoy,Leroy Hood +16 more
TL;DR: The results show that measurement of personal data clouds over time can improve the understanding of health and disease, including early transitions to disease states.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of the Human Neurexin Genes: Alternative Splicing and the Generation of Protein Diversity
Lee Rowen,Janet M. Young,Brian Birditt,Amardeep Kaur,Anup Madan,Dana L. Philipps,Shizhen Qin,Patrick Minx,Richard K. Wilson,Leroy Hood,Brenton R. Graveley +10 more
TL;DR: The complete nucleotide sequence of all three human neurexin genes is determined and several conserved intronic sequence elements that may participate in the regulation of alternative splicing are identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of the Gene-Dense Major Histocompatibility Complex Class III Region and Its Comparison to Mouse
Tao Xie,Lee Rowen,Begoña Aguado,Mary Ellen Ahearn,Anup Madan,Shizhen Qin,R. Duncan Campbell,Leroy Hood +7 more
TL;DR: The cross-species comparison has facilitated the identification of 60 genes in human and 61 in mouse, including a potential RNA gene for which the introns are more conserved across species than the exons, and potential cis-regulatory elements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Birren,Leroy Hood,Eric S. Lander,Chad Nusbaum +68 more
TL;DR: A detailed analysis of the duplication structure of human chromosome 15 finds that most of the intrachromosomal duplications seem to share a common ancestry, and demonstrates that some remaining gaps in the genome sequence are probably due to structural polymorphisms between haplotypes.
