TL;DR: This article study the effect of financial restatement on bank loan contracting and find that loans initiated after restatements have significantly higher spreads, shorter maturities, higher likelihood of being secured, and more covenant restrictions.
Abstract: This paper is the first to study the effect of financial restatement on bank loan contracting. Compared with loans initiated before restatement, loans initiated after restatement have significantly higher spreads, shorter maturities, higher likelihood of being secured, and more covenant restrictions. The increase in loan spread is significantly larger for fraudulent restating firms than other restating firms. We also find that after restatement, the number of lenders per loan declines and firms pay higher upfront and annual fees. These results are consistent with the view that banks use tighter loan contract terms to overcome risk and information problems arising from financial restatements.

TL;DR: Long-term treatment with ramipril had a beneficial effect on atherosclerosis progression and vitamin E had a neutral effect on coronary artery disease progression.
Abstract: Background—Activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and oxidative modification of LDL cholesterol play important roles in atherosclerosis The Study to Evaluate Carotid Ultrasound changes in patients treated with Ramipril and vitamin E (SECURE), a substudy of the Heart Outcomes Prevention Evaluation (HOPE) trial, was a prospective, double-blind, 3×2 factorial design trial that evaluated the effects of long-term treatment with the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor ramipril and vitamin E on atherosclerosis progression in high-risk patients Methods and Results—A total of 732 patients ≥55 years of age who had vascular disease or diabetes and at least one other risk factor and who did not have heart failure or a low left ventricular ejection fraction were randomly assigned to receive ramipril 25 mg/d or 10 mg/d and vitamin E (RRR-α-tocopheryl acetate) 400 IU/d or their matching placebos Average follow-up was 45 years Atherosclerosis progression was evaluated by B-mode carotid ultrasoun

TL;DR: A sign that the software engineering profession has matured will be that we lose our preoccupation with the first release and focus on the long-term health of our products as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Programs, like people, get old. We can't prevent aging, but we can understand its causes, take steps to limits its effects, temporarily reverse some of the damage it has caused, and prepare for the day when the software is no longer viable. A sign that the software engineering profession has matured will be that we lose our preoccupation with the first release and focus on the long-term health of our products. Researchers and practitioners must change their perception of the problems of software development. Only then will software engineering deserve to be called "engineering". >
