TL;DR: In this paper, the authors highlight the applications of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) ranging from photocatalytic to photoelectronic materials and highlight the pathway to modulate its electronic structure.
Abstract: As an analog of graphite, graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) has been the hotspot in the materials science for its unique electronic structure. With medium band gap as well as thermal and chemical stability in ambient environment, it becomes one of the most promising photocatalytic materials. Intensive investigation has been focus on its photocatalytic performance for various reactions to date. What is more, controllable modulation of its electronic structure via doping or chemical functionalization is available. In addition, considerable attention has been paid on its photoelectronic application, such as light emitting device, photocathode, optical sensor, etc. Based on the electronic properties and pathway to modulate its electronic structure, in this review, we highlight the applications of g-C 3 N 4 ranging from photocatalytic to photoelectronic materials.

TL;DR: The water permeance through the MXene membrane is much higher than that of the most membranes with similar rejections, and long-time operation reveals the outstanding stability of theMXene membrane for water purification.
Abstract: Two-dimensional (2D) materials are promising candidates for advanced water purification membranes. A new kind of lamellar membrane is based on a stack of 2D MXene nanosheets. Starting from compact Ti3AlC2, delaminated nanosheets of the composition Ti3C2Tx with the functional groups T (O, OH, and/or F) can be produced by etching and ultrasonication and stapled on a porous support by vacuum filtration. The MXene membrane supported on anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) substrate shows excellent water permeance (more than 1000 L m−2 h−1 bar−1) and favorable rejection rate (over 90 %) for molecules with sizes larger than 2.5 nm. The water permeance through the MXene membrane is much higher than that of the most membranes with similar rejections. Long-time operation also reveals the outstanding stability of the MXene membrane for water purification.

TL;DR: This work constructed highly oriented and ordered macropores within metal-organic framework (MOF) single crystals, opening up the area of three-dimensional–ordered macro-microporous materials (that is, materials containing both macro- and micropores) in single-crystalline form.
Abstract: We constructed highly oriented and ordered macropores within metal-organic framework (MOF) single crystals, opening up the area of three-dimensional–ordered macro-microporous materials (that is, materials containing both macro- and micropores) in single-crystalline form. Our methodology relies on the strong shaping effects of a polystyrene nanosphere monolith template and a double-solvent–induced heterogeneous nucleation approach. This process synergistically enabled the in situ growth of MOFs within ordered voids, rendering a single crystal with oriented and ordered macro-microporous structure. The improved mass diffusion properties of such hierarchical frameworks, together with their robust single-crystalline nature, endow them with superior catalytic activity and recyclability for bulky-molecule reactions, as compared with conventional, polycrystalline hollow, and disordered macroporous ZIF-8.

TL;DR: A hierarchical architecture of the smart factory was proposed first, and then the key technologies were analyzed from the aspects of the physical resource layer, the network layer, and the data application layer, which showed that the overall equipment effectiveness of the equipment is significantly improved.
Abstract: Due to the current structure of digital factory, it is necessary to build the smart factory to upgrade the manufacturing industry. Smart factory adopts the combination of physical technology and cyber technology and deeply integrates previously independent discrete systems making the involved technologies more complex and precise than they are now. In this paper, a hierarchical architecture of the smart factory was proposed first, and then the key technologies were analyzed from the aspects of the physical resource layer, the network layer, and the data application layer. In addition, we discussed the major issues and potential solutions to key emerging technologies, such as Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and cloud computing, which are embedded in the manufacturing process. Finally, a candy packing line was used to verify the key technologies of smart factory, which showed that the overall equipment effectiveness of the equipment is significantly improved.
