TL;DR: Inspired by human control strategy of inverted pendulum, the tilt angular motion in the passive subsystem Σb has been indirectly controlled using the dynamic coupling with planar forward motion of subsystemΣa, such that the satisfactory tracking of set tilt angle can be guaranteed.
Abstract: In this paper, automatic motion control is investigated for one of wheeled inverted pendulum (WIP) models, which have been widely applied for modeling of a large range of two wheeled modern vehicles. First, the underactuated WIP model is decomposed into a fully actuated second order subsystem Σa consisting of planar movement of vehicle forward and yaw angular motions, and a nonactuated first order subsystem Σb of pendulum motion. Due to the unknown dynamics of subsystem Σa and the universal approximation ability of neural network (NN), an adaptive NN scheme has been employed for motion control of subsystem Σa . The model reference approach has been used whereas the reference model is optimized by the finite time linear quadratic regulation technique. The pendulum motion in the passive subsystem Σb is indirectly controlled using the dynamic coupling with planar forward motion of subsystem Σa , such that satisfactory tracking of a set pendulum tilt angle can be guaranteed. Rigours theoretic analysis has been established, and simulation studies have been performed to demonstrate the developed method.

TL;DR: In this paper, the synergistic effects of processing solvents and molecular weight on the photovoltaic performance of all-polymer solar cells were investigated, which consist of an n-type polymer N2200 and a p-type wide bandgap polymer PTzBI that are made of benzodithiophene and imide-functionalized benzotriazole units.
Abstract: Increasing interest has been devoted to developing high-performance all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) owing to their specific advantages in light absorption and long-term stability. In this work, we systematically investigated the synergistic effects of processing solvents and molecular weight on the photovoltaic performance of all-PSCs, which consist of an n-type polymer N2200 and a p-type wide bandgap polymer PTzBI that are made up of benzodithiophene and imide-functionalized benzotriazole units. It is noted that increasing the molecular weight of N2200 can simultaneously enhance exciton generation and dissociation, reduce bimolecular recombination, and facilitate charge extraction. The films processed with the environmentally-friendly solvent 2-methyl-tetrahydrofuran (MeTHF) exhibit a more favourable film morphology than those processed with commonly used halogenated solvents. The all-PSC consisting of the high molecular weight N2200 and PTzBI processed with the environmentally friendly solvent MeTHF presents a remarkable power conversion efficiency of 9.16%, which is the highest value so far observed for all-PSCs. Of particular interest is that the PCE remains 6.37% with the active layer thickness of 230 nm. These observations imply the great promise of the developed all-PSCs for practical applications toward high-throughput roll-to-roll technology.

TL;DR: The Lyapunov stability theory is introduced to demonstrate that the adaptive controller achieves the desired control goals and a numerical simulation is performed which verifies the significance and feasibility of the presented control scheme.
Abstract: This paper presents an adaptive control method for a class of uncertain strict-feedback switched nonlinear systems. First, we consider the constraint characteristics in the switched nonlinear systems to ensure that all states in switched systems do not violate the constraint ranges. Second, we design the controller based on the backstepping technique, while integral Barrier Lyapunov functions (iBLFs) are adopted to solve the full state constraint problems in each step in order to realize the direct constraints on state variables. Furthermore, we introduce the Lyapunov stability theory to demonstrate that the adaptive controller achieves the desired control goals. Finally, we perform a numerical simulation, which further verifies the significance and feasibility of the presented control scheme.

TL;DR: It was found that incorporation of fluorine component into the polymer greatly enhanced the antibacterial activity and bacterial antiadhesion of the treated fabrics due to the low surface energy induced hydrophobicity.
Abstract: Considerable attention has been devoted to producing antibacterial fabrics due to their very wide applications in medicine, hygiene, hospital, etc. However, the poor antibacterial durability and bad bacterial antiadhesion capacity of most existing antibacterial fabrics limit their applications. In this work, a series of antibacterial and polymeric quaternary ammonium monomers with different alkyl chain length were successfully synthesized to copolymerize with fluorine-containing and other acrylic monomers to generate cationic fluorinated polymer emulsions and durably antibacterial and bacterially antiadhesive cotton fabrics. The relation between antibacterial constituent and its antibacterial activity was investigated. The study indicated that the alkyl chain length and contents of the antibacterial monomers, as well as the add-on percentage of polymer greatly influenced the antibacterial activities of the fabrics. In addition, it was found that incorporation of fluorine component into the polymer greatly...
