Abstract: This paper explores the problem of protecting a site on the Internet against hostile external Java applets while allowing trusted internal applets to run. With careful implementation, a site can be made resistant to current Java security weaknesses as well as those yet to be discovered. In addition, we describe a new attack on certain sophisticated firewalls that is most effectively realized as a Java applet.

TL;DR: In this article, a self-aligned gated electron field emitter is fabricated on a silicon substrate and the dielectric layer is partially etched away so as to expose the coated needle.
Abstract: A method of fabricating a self-aligned gated electron field emitter. An oxidation process forms an optimized, atomically sharp needle (18) in a silicon substrate (12). The needle and surrounding planar area are conformally coated with silicon dioxide (22). A dielectric layer (24) is deposited and planarized over the needle. The dielectric layer is then partially etched away so as to expose the coated needle. The silicon dioxide exposed on the needle is isotropically etched so as to undercut the dielectric layer. A gate metal is directionally deposited so as to form a gate layer (26) on the planar portions of the dielectric layer that is electrically isolated from the gate metal (28) deposited on the needle. The metal on the needle is anodically etched by applying the potential only to the silicon and not to the gate layer. Electro-plating may recoat the needle with another metal (30). The silicon substrate may be replaced by a glass substrate (42) on which is deposited a polysilicon or amorphous silicon layer (40). The invention allows the fabrication of an array of emitters with closely spaced gates over large areas and on inexpensive substrates.

TL;DR: The airborne concentrations of soluble ions in fine particles and coarse particles have been measured indoors and outdoors at telephone offices in Wichita, Kansas and Lubbock, Texas, this paper, these concentrations are compared with the mean annual indoor surface accumulations of these ions on zinc and aluminum structural surfaces.

TL;DR: A study of home-based employment in the United States using data from the 1980 census showed that only 1.6 percent of the work force worked at home as a primary place of employment as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Home-based employment in the United States is studied using data from the 1980 census. The results indicate that only 1.6 percent of the work force worked at home as a primary place of employment in 1980 a percentage that has been declining since 1960. Consideration is given to reasons for working at home the characteristics of those so employed and income in comparison to those working outside the home. (ANNOTATION)

TL;DR: A technique to find a small subset of a program's statements and decisions with the property that covering the subset implies covering the rest, and introduces the notion of a mega block which is a set of basic blocks spanning multiple procedures with theproperty that one basic block in it is executed iff every basic block is executed.
Abstract: Coverage testing techniques, such as statement and decision coverage, play a significant role in improving the quality of software systems. Constructing a thorough set of tests that yield high coverage, however, is often a very tedious, time consuming task. In this paper we present a technique to find a small subset of a program's statements and decisions with the property that covering the subset implies covering the rest. We introduce the notion of a mega block which is a set of basic blocks spanning multiple procedures with the property that one basic block in it is executed iff every basic block in it is executed. We also present an algorithm to construct a data structure called the global dominator graph showing dominator relationships among mega blocks. A tester only needs to create test cases that are aimed at executing one basic block from each of the leaf nodes in this directed acyclic graph. Every other basic block in the program will automatically be covered by the same test set.
