TL;DR: Persistence of dengue symptoms were common in laboratory-confirmed d Dengue patients; host characteristics, such as age and health status before infection, were associated with prolonged persistence (>60 d); the burden ofdengue may be higher than previously estimated.
Abstract: Background Dengue is commonly considered an acute illness and follows three phases: febrile, critical in some cases and recovery. However, a number of studies have described a continuation of dengue symptoms for weeks or months, extending the recovery phase. Here we evaluate this persistence of dengue symptoms during convalescence. Methods Our clinical cohort study included patients who sought medical services 48 to 144 h from the onset of fever at seven hospitals or ambulatory centers in Morelos, Mexico. Seventy-nine laboratory-confirmed dengue patients were followed up regularly using clinic and/or home visits and telephone calls for as long as symptoms persisted or up to 6 mo. Results In total, 55.7% of patients had dengue-related symptoms 1 mo after the onset of fever; pain and dermatological manifestations were the most common persistent symptoms. Prognostic factors for symptom persistence were: ≥4 d of fever (RR 1.72; 95% CI 1.35 to 2.19), platelet count ≤100 000/mm3 (RR 1.20; 95% CI 1.20 to 2.20), petechiae/bruises (RR 1.97; 95% CI 1.56 to 2.48) and abdominal pain/hepatomegaly (RR 1.79; 95% CI 1.41 to 2.28). Conclusions Persistence of dengue symptoms were common in laboratory-confirmed dengue patients. Manifestations related to tissue damage were associated with persistence after 30 d; host characteristics, such as age and health status before infection, were associated with prolonged persistence (>60 d). The burden of dengue may be higher than previously estimated.

TL;DR: In this article, an analisis categorical tematico of reglamentaciones and estatutos promulgados in el siglo XX in Colombia, considering the elemento o materia principal that se encarguen de regular relacionado with the riesgos profesionales or la salud ocupacional, is presented.

TL;DR: A comparative study of domestic wastewater treatment using natural systems like artificial wetlands shows organic matter removal rates between 70% and 86% using water hyacinth and of 58% using common duckweed as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: This comparative study of domestic wastewater treatment using natural systems like artificial wetlands shows organic matter (BOD5) removal rates between 70% and 86% using water hyacinth and of 58% using common duckweed. The artificial wetland system behaves hydraulically as a piston-flow model regardless of the aquatic plant used. During the experiment, it was observed that common duckweed contributes characteristic elements to water that increase the effluent's pH (> 11), whereas water hyacinth elevates the pH value in the range of 6-8, thus favoring the stabilization of the organic matter within the biological system.

TL;DR: A combination of highMF levels and optimal adherence to a MedDiet is associated with a healthier cardiometabolic profile; however, high MF levels seem to circumvent the deleterious effects of having a low adherence to the MedD Diet.
Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the combined association of adherence to a Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) and muscular fitness (MF) with cardiometabolic health in collegiate students. The present cross-sectional analysis consisted of 1248 (714 females) healthy collegiate students (20.1 ± 2.7 years old). Adherence to a MedDiet was assessed by a KIDMED (Mediterranean Diet Quality Index) questionnaire. Standing broad jump, standing vertical jump, and isometric handgrip dynamometry were used as indicators of MF. The cardiometabolic profile was assessed using the following components: triglycerides, blood pressure, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol, glucose, and waist circumference. Analysis of covariance shows a significant difference in the cardiometabolic profile of both genders between the high MF/low MedDiet and high MF/optimal MedDiet groups, and the low MF/low MedDiet and low MF/optimal MedDiet groups (p < 0.001). No difference was found on cardiometabolic profile between high MF/optimal MedDiet and high MF/low MedDiet, both in males and females. Additionally, logistic regression shows that both female (odds ratio (OR) = 2.01; 95% confidence interval (CI): (1.8–3.7); p = 0.02) and male (OR = 3.38; 95% CI: (1.9–5.8); p < 0.001) participants in the optimal MedDiet/high MF group had the highest odds of expressing a healthier cardiometabolic profile as compared to those in the low MF/low MedDiet group. In conclusion, a combination of high MF levels and optimal adherence to a MedDiet is associated with a healthier cardiometabolic profile; however, high MF levels seem to circumvent the deleterious effects of having a low adherence to a MedDiet.
