TL;DR: The recursive filter to estimate the detector offset nonuniformity (NU) noise present in infrared (IR) imaging systems is extended by adding to the so-called intra-block processing (where offset NU is a constant) an inter-blockprocessing algorithm.
Abstract: In [1] we presented a recursive filter to estimate the detector offset nonuniformity (NU) noise present in infrared (IR) imaging systems. Such a filter was derived considering an estimation time-window short enough so that the offset NU can be regarded as a constant in noise. Since the offset NU is non-stationary, upon the arrival of new blocks of IR data new estimates of the offset NU have to be computed. In this paper, this recursive filter is extended by adding to the so-called intra-block processing (where offset NU is a constant) an inter-block processing algorithm. The inter-block processing algorithm considers the time varying effect in the offset NU and models it as a discrete-time Gauss-Markov random process. So, the extended filter is designed to compensate continuously for the NU when new blocks of frames arrive. In addition, the theoretical analysis of the estimator provides us expressions for selecting the appropriate parameters required by the algorithm. The ability of the method to compensate for the offset NU is demonstrated by employing several mid-wavelength IR video sequences.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the case of two minors in disability status from an indigenous community of Vaupes, which because of their disability are in complete physical and emotional abandonment of their families, mainly due to their condition and the health imaginaries that manage the community, which consider that their situation is the result of "bad" and therefore decides to leave them to their fortune in order for them to cease their existence.
ABSTRACT Through this article is presented the case of two minors in disability status from an indigenous community of Vaupes, which because of their disability are in complete physical and emotional abandonment of their families, mainly due to their condition and the health imaginaries that manages the community, which consider that their situation is the result of ";;bad";; and therefore decides to leave them to their fortune in order for them to cease their existence. It also discusses the interventions in this case made by the Colombian Family Welfare Institute and related institutions to ensure proper development of children and tend to improve their quality of life.

TL;DR: It is very important is knowledge of the gut-brain axis and there leptin, which regulates food intake and energy balance in normal weight subjects and is a key hormone in food and body control in both children and adults.
Abstract: Obesity is one of the most serious problems of the 21st century and is thought to affect about 300 million people worldwide. According to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), 18% of the adult population is obese. More alarming is that there is a strong correlation between the development of childhood obesity and its prevalence in adulthood done. Likewise, children who do not have this disease have high chances of staying within normal weight into adulthood. Therefore the present obesity predisposes an early prevalence of this condition in adulthood. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved so far five drugs against long-term obesity in adults with obesity: lorcaserin, phentermine / topiramate, naltrexone / bupropion and liraglutide in the last two years. A fifth alternative is orlistat, is a drug used short-term efficacy in use up to six months and is solely used to treat childhood obesity. Therefore, new pharmacological alternatives are investigated. It is very important is knowledge of the gut-brain axis and there leptin, which regulates food intake and energy balance in normal weight subjects and is a key hormone in food and body control in both children and adults
