29 Jun 2019TL;DR: The design of robust control systems for a simple effect evaporation system is presented and some tests carried out in simulation show the potentiality of the control system proposed.
Abstract: Evaporation is a process that is widely used in the chemical industry and aims to concentrate a solution consisting of a non-volatile solute and a volatile solvent. In this paper the design of robust control systems for a simple effect evaporation system is presented. Two controllers were designed, the first was based on the Algebraic Riccati Equations (ARE) solutions technique and the second was derived from the D-K iteration method. To show the potentiality of the control system proposed, we present the results of some tests carried out in simulation.

TL;DR: In this article, the meanings that older people give to the experience of staying at home in later life by using telecare are explored, and focus groups and interviews with telecare users from different cities of Catalonia (Spain).
Abstract: Caring for the elderly is turning to forms of community care and home care. Telecare is one of those emergent modalities of caring. This article will explore the meanings that older people give to the experience of staying at home in later life by using telecare. Discourse analysis is used to examine a set of focus groups and interviews with telecare users from different cities of Catalonia (Spain). The outcomes include three interpretative repertoires that we called: “Aging at home”, “normal aging” and “unsafe aging”. For each repertoire we examine how the permanence of older people in their homes is accounted, and which role telecare plays in such experience.

TL;DR: Researchers from different countries worked in partnership with the PAR-Q+ Collaboration to translate and adapt the questionnaire into Spanish, with a very good consistency and an agreement almost perfect between the two times the questionnaire was answered.
Abstract: Researchers from different countries worked in partnership with the PAR-Q+ Collaboration to translate and adapt the questionnaire into Spanish. Initially two independent translations were created, then a common initial version was produced. After two independent back translations of this first document, the team of experts established the official Spanish version. A total of 177 volunteers answered this version twice, one to two weeks apart. This translated version had a very good consistency (Cronbach’s a = 0.995; p < 0.01) and for 98% of the questions an agreement almost perfect between the two times the questionnaire was answered (

TL;DR: In this article, a study by psychologists at the Manuela Beltran University in Bogota about changes in executive functions in polydrug of psychoactive substances (SPA) was conducted.
Abstract: This article reports on a study by psychologists at the Manuela Beltran University in Bogota about changes in executive functions in polydrug of psychoactive substances (SPA). The technique used was the application of neuropsychological tests to two groups of individuals – polydrug and controls-, to contrast the performance on tasks of executive functioning; the results show the relationship between long term use of different psychoactive substances and low performance in executive functions, relationship that regarding treatment for these patients, involves the need to include neuropsychological rehabilitation in order to reduce executives deficits produced by the consume.
