TL;DR: A proposed semantic ETL framework applies semantics to various data fields and so allows richer data integration in the extract-transform-load process.
Abstract: Current tools that facilitate the extract-transform-load (ETL) process focus on ETL workflow, not on generating meaningful semantic relationships to integrate data from multiple, heterogeneous sources. A proposed semantic ETL framework applies semantics to various data fields and so allows richer data integration.

TL;DR: Recent work in the area of unsupervised feature learning and deep learning is reviewed, showing that practice shows that to learn image representation for object detection, to focus on representing any image, rather than on representing the particular objects of interest.
Abstract: ways confused by these effects, but object detectors seem to have strong performance limits. Systems using deep networks have recently smashed these limits, likely because their image representations are learned. In “Representation Learning: A Review and New Perspectives” (IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, vol. 35, no. 8, 2013, pp. 1798–1828), Yoshua Bengio and his colleagues review recent work in the area of unsupervised feature learning and deep learning. Practice shows that to learn image representation for object detection, we should focus on representing any image, rather than on representing the particular objects of interest. First, modern methods generally do better with more data; there are always relatively few pictures of the objects of interest because labeling images is hard, and there is an immense number of unlabeled images. Second, we might change our mind about which objects

Abstract: Experiments suggest that using head-up displays like Google Glass to support parts picking for distribution results in fewer errors than current processes. Making Glass opaque instead of transparent further improves selection efficiency. The Web extra at http://youtu.be/yUZFaCP6rP4 is a video demonstrating that order picking assisted by head-up display (HUD) is faster, has fewer errors, requires less workload, and is preferred to order picking assisted by pick-by-light, paper pick list, and cart-mounted display (CMD). The second Web extra at http://youtu.be/RApBJ0U3XpI is a video demonstrating that order picking assisted by a Google Glass with an opaque display is three percent faster than with a transparent display (default).

TL;DR: A system for automatic recognition that has three phases: image capture, plate localization, and license plate number recognition is proposed.
Abstract: License plate recognition is a computer vision method that identifies vehicles from their license plates. The most crucial step of such a system is accurate localization of the plate. The authors propose a system for automatic recognition that has three phases: image capture, plate localization, and license plate number recognition.
