A critical review of mid- to late-Holocene sea-level fluctuations on the eastern Brazilian coastline

TLDR
In this article, the authors discuss all the key radiocarbon-dated samples used to establish regional trends in relative sea-level on the eastern coast of Brazil and conclude that there is widespread evidence for a progressive decline, possibly with uneven rates, of relative sea level since the end of the mid-Holocene sea level maximum (PMT) above present sea level and a subsequent fall to the present time.

Quaternary Sea-Level Changes: A Global Perspective

TL;DR: This paper reviewed the history of research into sea level changes and summarised the methods and analytical approaches used to interpret evidence for sea-level changes and concluded that current trends in sea levels and likely future sealevel changes are likely to continue.

The legacy of 4,500 years of polyculture agroforestry in the eastern Amazon

TL;DR: Fossil records suggest that the Amazon rainforest in the pre-Columbian era was home to polyculture agroforestry, with multiple annual crops providing subsistence for indigenous groups who shaped the Amazon as early as 4,500 years ago.

Extended 14C Data Base and Revised Calib 3.0 14C Age Calibration Program

Minze Stuiver, +1 more
- 01 Jan 1993 -
TL;DR: The age calibration program, CALIB (Stuiver & Reimer 1986), first made available in 1986 and subsequently modified in 1987 (revision 2.0 and 2.1), has been amended anew as mentioned in this paper.

Current plate motions

TL;DR: A global plate motion model, named NUVEL-1, which describes current plate motions between 12 rigid plates is described, with special attention given to the method, data, and assumptions used as discussed by the authors.

Current plate motions

TL;DR: In this paper, a new global model (NUVEL-1) was proposed to describe the geologically current motion between 12 assumed-rigid plates by inverting plate motion data.

Refining the eustatic sea-level curve since the Last Glacial Maximum using far- and intermediate-field sites

TL;DR: In this paper, the eustatic component of relative sea-level change provides a measure of the amount of ice transferred between the continents and oceans during glacial cycles, which has been quantified for the period since the last glacial maximum by correcting observed sea level change for the glacio-hydro-isostatic contributions using realistic ice distribution and earth models.
