An overview of time-based and condition-based maintenance in industrial application

TLDR
It can be concluded that the application of the CBM technique is more realistic, and thus more worthwhile to apply, than the TBM one, however, further research on CBM must be carried out in order to make it more realistic for making maintenance decisions.

Joint optimization of inspection-based and age-based preventive maintenance and spare ordering policies for single-unit systems

TL;DR: In this article , a joint optimization policy of preventive maintenance and spare ordering for single-unit systems, which deteriorate subject to the delay-time concept with three deterioration stages, is presented.

An Optimized and Safety-aware Maintenance Framework: A Case Study on Aircraft Engine

TL;DR: In this paper , an AI-assisted predictive maintenance scheme that synthesizes prognostics modeling and simulation-based optimization is proposed to help airlines decide their optimal engine maintenance approach. But the proposed method does not take into account engine operations conditions.

Fault Detection by Signal Reconstruction in Nuclear Power Plants

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors improved the auto associative bilateral kernel regression (AABKR) method for on-line condition monitoring of systems, structures, and components (SSCs) during transient process operation of a nuclear power plant (NPP) is improved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic management of periodicity between measurements in predictive maintenance

TL;DR: In this article , a methodology to determine and manage this Time Interval Between Measurements (TIBeM) dynamically adapted to each machine and situation is presented, where the most appropriate TIBeM is recalculated each time a new measurement and diagnostic is performed.

Optimum Preventive Maintenance Policies

TL;DR: In this paper, two types of preventive maintenance policies are considered, and the optimum policies are determined, in each case, as unique solutions of certain integral equations depending on the failure distribution.
