An overview of time-based and condition-based maintenance in industrial application

TLDR
It can be concluded that the application of the CBM technique is more realistic, and thus more worthwhile to apply, than the TBM one, however, further research on CBM must be carried out in order to make it more realistic for making maintenance decisions.

Data-Driven Condition Monitoring of Mining Mobile Machinery in Non-Stationary Operations Using Wireless Accelerometer Sensor Modules

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the development of an easy-to-deploy and smart monitoring IoT system that utilizes vibration measurement devices to assess real-time condition of bulldozers, power shovels and backhoes, in non-stationary operations in the mining industry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Joint optimal production planning and proactive maintenance policy for a system subject to degradation

TL;DR: In this article, a joint production planning and condition-based maintenance (CBM) model is proposed for a single-stage production system that deteriorates with usage during a specified finite planning horizon.

Mini-term, a novel paradigm for fault detection

TL;DR: For the first time, how mini-terms could replace common sensors for machine fault detection is shown and how the cycle time variability of machine parts can be used as a deterioration indicator that could describe the dynamic of the failure for the machine parts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Developing simulation based optimization mechanism for a novel stochastic reliability centered maintenance problem

TL;DR: This research investigates joint scheduling of maintenance and production planning with benefit of reliability-centered maintenance for monitoring and managing maintenance function of a stochastic complex production-planning problem namely flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSP).
