An overview of time-based and condition-based maintenance in industrial application

TLDR
It can be concluded that the application of the CBM technique is more realistic, and thus more worthwhile to apply, than the TBM one, however, further research on CBM must be carried out in order to make it more realistic for making maintenance decisions.

Pipeline Failure Assessment Based on Fuzzy Bayesian Network and AHP

TL;DR: In this paper , a model that integrates Bayesian network (BN), fuzzy theory, and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is presented to analyze the probability of pipeline failure. But, the model is not suitable for the analysis of pipeline failures.

Estimation of Residual Useful Life and Tracking of Real-time Damage Paths of Rubble-Mound Breakwaters Using Stochastic Wiener Process

TL;DR: Special attentions are paid to the relationship of MTTF and MRL and it is concluded for rubble-mound breakwaters that the probability density functions of residual useful lifetime tends to have a longer tail in the right side rather than the left side because of the gradual increases of cumulative damage of armor units.

Grouping of Maintenance Actions with Deep Reinforcement Learning and Graph Convolutional Networks

TL;DR: A novel Deep RL (DRL) framework based on Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) to leverage the inherent graph structure of typical assets and shows potential for developing efficient and practical maintenance plans in terms of cost and reliability.

Uncertainty Modelling in Life Cycle Costing Analysis for Rail Level Crossing Systems

Yue Shang
TL;DR: A reliability-based LCC model is proposed for Harmelen level crossing system (LCS), one of the applications of ERS, which incorporates the uncertainty associated with rail degradation and maintenance interventions to LCC analysis in order to optimize the maintenance strategies and achieve a cost-effective life cycle management of Harmelens LCS.

Optimum Preventive Maintenance Policies

TL;DR: In this paper, two types of preventive maintenance policies are considered, and the optimum policies are determined, in each case, as unique solutions of certain integral equations depending on the failure distribution.
