An overview of time-based and condition-based maintenance in industrial application

TLDR
It can be concluded that the application of the CBM technique is more realistic, and thus more worthwhile to apply, than the TBM one, however, further research on CBM must be carried out in order to make it more realistic for making maintenance decisions.

An optimal dynamic interval preventive maintenance scheduling for series systems

TL;DR: A novel framework for solving the non-periodical PM schedule with dynamic interval based on the multi-objective genetic algorithm is proposed and the strategies include updating strategy, deleting strategy, inserting strategy and moving strategy, set to correct the invalid population individuals of the algorithm.

Multi-objective evolutionary simulation based optimization mechanism for a novel stochastic reliability centered maintenance problem

TL;DR: Four multi-objective simulation based optimization algorithms, called multi-Objective biogeography based optimization (MOBBO) algorithm, Pareto envelope-based selection algorithm (PESA), new version of non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGAIII) and multi- Objectives based on decomposition (MOEAD) are employed to solve the underlying problem.

Condition Monitoring with Prediction Based on Diesel Engine Oil Analysis: A Case Study for Urban Buses

TL;DR: In this article, a case study and a model to predict maintenance interventions based on condition monitoring of diesel engine oil in urban buses by accompanying the evolution of its degradation is presented, in order to predict the next intervention with the maximum time between them, which means the maximum availability.
Journal ArticleDOI

A data-driven two-stage maintenance framework for degradation prediction in semiconductor manufacturing industries

TL;DR: The effectiveness of the proposed two-stage maintenance framework is testified with extensive computation and experimental studies on an industrial case of the wafer fabrication plant in semiconductor manufactories, achieving up to 74.1% in testing accuracies for equipment degradation prediction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Which is better for replacement policies with continuous or discrete scheduled times

TL;DR: It is shown that Type I is more flexible than Type II and costs less than Type III, however, modified replacement costs are obtained for Types II and III as critical points at which their policies should be adopted.

Optimum Preventive Maintenance Policies

TL;DR: In this paper, two types of preventive maintenance policies are considered, and the optimum policies are determined, in each case, as unique solutions of certain integral equations depending on the failure distribution.
