An overview of time-based and condition-based maintenance in industrial application

TLDR
It can be concluded that the application of the CBM technique is more realistic, and thus more worthwhile to apply, than the TBM one, however, further research on CBM must be carried out in order to make it more realistic for making maintenance decisions.

Trend-Based Repair Quality Assessment for Industrial Rotating Equipment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a general modeling structure to give context to historical data, which can act as a substitute for supplemental test data, and describes a methodology for assessing repair quality based on trends in signal features.
Journal ArticleDOI

Machine fault detection methods based on machine learning algorithms: A review.

TL;DR: The different methodologies for the identification of the most common mechanical failures are examined and the most widely applied algorithms based on machine learning are analyzed: Support Vector Machine (SVM) solutions, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) algorithms, Convolutional Neural Network model, Recurrent Neural Network applications, and Deep Generative Systems.

A POMDP Framework to Find Optimal Inspection and Maintenance Policies via Availability and Profit Maximization for Manufacturing Systems

TL;DR: This study proposes a Partially Observable Markov Decision Process (POMDP) framework for a partially observable and stochastically deteriorating system in which inspection and maintenance optimal policies of Condition Based Maintenance must be determined to maximize the average profit and availability of the system simultaneously.

Machinery Fault Diagnosis Using Two-Channel Analysis Method Based on Fictitious System Frequency Response Function

TL;DR: In this article, a two-channel analysis method is proposed to overcome the difficulty of finding the ideal measurement points for bearing fault detection when ideal points for measurement sensors are not readily available.
Journal ArticleDOI

Joint optimization of condition-based maintenance and spare part inventory for two-component system

TL;DR: Deterioration state-space partitioning of the observed state and the spare part inventory state is developed to analyze all the possible maintenance requirements of the system and calculate the probabilities of the actual maintenance activities with the restriction of the inventory state.

Optimum Preventive Maintenance Policies

TL;DR: In this paper, two types of preventive maintenance policies are considered, and the optimum policies are determined, in each case, as unique solutions of certain integral equations depending on the failure distribution.
