Bayesian-Based Iterative Method of Image Restoration

TLDR
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem.
Abstract
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem. The method functions effectively in the presence of noise and is adaptable to computer operation.

Assumptions of the primordial spectrum and cosmological parameter estimation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate that a specific assumed form actually drives the best-fit parameters into distinct basins of likelihood in the space of cosmological parameters where the likelihood resists improvement via modifications to the primordial power spectrum.

Quantitative analysis of defects in composite material by means of optical lockin thermography

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on non-destructive testing of carbon-ber reinforced plastic (CFRP) materials with optical lockin thermography, which is used to evaluate defects in a quantitative way, image processing algorithms are applied to thermographic phase images in order to get panoramic views of extended aircraft parts and to compare measurements before and after a fatigue load to determine potential defect growth.

Spatially-Variant CNN-based Point Spread Function Estimation for Blind Deconvolution and Depth Estimation in Optical Microscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors estimate the parameters of a spatially-variant Point-Spread function (PSF) model using a CNN, which does not require instrument- or object-specific calibration.

Deconvolution of core electron energy loss spectra.

TL;DR: A test on experimental spectra confirms the good performance of model based deconvolution in comparison to maximum entropy methods and shows the advantage of knowing the estimated error bars from a single spectrum acquisition.

Application of blind deconvolution approach with image quality metric in underwater image restoration

TL;DR: This work uses blind deconvolution approach together with Wells' small angle approximation theory to restore the underwater image to a better level using range gated pulsed laser imaging system to extend the imaging distance.

Modern probability theory and its applications

TL;DR: Probability Theory as the study of Mathematical Models of Random Phenomena as mentioned in this paper is a generalization of probability theory for the study and analysis of statistical models of random variables.

Image Evaluation and Restoration

TL;DR: The extent to which the processing approaches the optimum can be evaluated by determining the fraction of the total information content of the image which can be visually extracted after processing.

Restoration of Turbulence-Degraded Images*

TL;DR: In this paper, the amplitude and phase coefficients of the two-dimensional Fourier series representing the degraded images were corrected by applying corrections to the optical transfer function of the turbulence measured at the time the images were photographed.
