Bayesian-Based Iterative Method of Image Restoration

TLDR
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem.
Abstract
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem. The method functions effectively in the presence of noise and is adaptable to computer operation.

Sparse Poisson Noisy Image Deblurring

TL;DR: This paper focuses on confocal microscopy, which is a very popular technique for 3-D imaging of biological living specimens that gives images with a very good resolution, although degraded by both blur and Poisson noise.

Reconstruction of the primordial power spectrum using temperature and polarisation data from multiple experiments

TL;DR: In this paper, the Richardson-Lucy algorithm was used to reconstruct the primordial power spectrum, P(k), using both temperature and polarisation data from the joint analysis of a number of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) observations.

A novel image reconstruction method applied to deep Hubble Space Telescope Images

TL;DR: The Variable-Pixel Linear Reconstruction (VPLR) algorithm as mentioned in this paper preserves photometry and resolution, can weight input images according to the statistical significance of each pixel, and removes the effects of geometric distortion both on image shape and photometry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Primordial power spectrum from Planck

TL;DR: In this paper, a modified Richardson-Lucy algorithm was used to reconstruct the primordial power spectrum (PPS) from Planck Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature anisotropy data.

Three-dimensional virtual histology enabled through cytoplasm-specific X-ray stain for microscopic and nanoscopic computed tomography.

TL;DR: This work presents a cytoplasm-specific staining method tailored for X-ray CT that enables a routine and efficient 3D volume screening at high resolutions and describes an eosin-based preparation overcoming the challenges of contrast enhancement and selectivity for certain tissues.

Modern probability theory and its applications

TL;DR: Probability Theory as the study of Mathematical Models of Random Phenomena as mentioned in this paper is a generalization of probability theory for the study and analysis of statistical models of random variables.

Image Evaluation and Restoration

TL;DR: The extent to which the processing approaches the optimum can be evaluated by determining the fraction of the total information content of the image which can be visually extracted after processing.

Restoration of Turbulence-Degraded Images*

TL;DR: In this paper, the amplitude and phase coefficients of the two-dimensional Fourier series representing the degraded images were corrected by applying corrections to the optical transfer function of the turbulence measured at the time the images were photographed.
