Bayesian-Based Iterative Method of Image Restoration

TLDR
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem.
Abstract
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem. The method functions effectively in the presence of noise and is adaptable to computer operation.

Extended Nijboer–Zernike approach to aberration and birefringence retrieval in a high-numerical-aperture optical system

TL;DR: In this article, a scalar-wave analysis of the imaging process according to the extended Nijboer-Zernike theory allows the retrieval of the complex pupil function of an imaging system, including aberrations as well as transmission variations.

Deconvolution enhanced direction of arrival estimation using one- and three-component seismic arrays applied to ocean induced microseisms

TL;DR: The CLEAN-PSF framework was extended in this article to 3 components and evaluated 1 year of data from the Pilbara Seismic Array (PSAR) in north-west Australia.

FIRST SCIENCE OBSERVATIONS WITH SOFIA/FORCAST: 6-37 μm IMAGING OF ORION BN/KL

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the SOFIA airborne telescope and its 5-40 μm camera FORCAST to acquire the highest resolution observations (4'') ever obtained of this region at these wavelengths.

S62 on a 9.9 yr Orbit around SgrA

TL;DR: In this paper, the S-cluster star S62 was observed on its Keplerian orbit around the supermassive black hole in the center of our galaxy, SgrA*.

Generalized sampling using a compound-eye imaging system for multi-dimensional object acquisition

TL;DR: This paper shows the proposed system model, physical examples, and simulations to verify TOMBO imaging using generalized sampling, and a numerical estimation algorithm employing a sparsity constraint is used for object reconstruction.

Modern probability theory and its applications

TL;DR: Probability Theory as the study of Mathematical Models of Random Phenomena as mentioned in this paper is a generalization of probability theory for the study and analysis of statistical models of random variables.

Image Evaluation and Restoration

TL;DR: The extent to which the processing approaches the optimum can be evaluated by determining the fraction of the total information content of the image which can be visually extracted after processing.

Restoration of Turbulence-Degraded Images*

TL;DR: In this paper, the amplitude and phase coefficients of the two-dimensional Fourier series representing the degraded images were corrected by applying corrections to the optical transfer function of the turbulence measured at the time the images were photographed.
