Bayesian-Based Iterative Method of Image Restoration

TLDR
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem.
Abstract
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem. The method functions effectively in the presence of noise and is adaptable to computer operation.

Non-uniform spatial resource allocation for depth mapping

TL;DR: In this article, an illumination module is configured to project patterned optical radiation into a volume of interest containing the object, and an image capture module is used to capture an image of the pattern reflected from the object.

Alternating Minimization Algorithms: From Blahut-Arimoto to Expectation-Maximization

TL;DR: Two closely related algorithms in estimation theory are the expectation-maximization algorithm and the generalized iterative scaling algorithm, each of which can be written as alternating minimization algorithms.

OmniFold: A Method to Simultaneously Unfold All Observables.

TL;DR: OmniFold as mentioned in this paper is an unfolding method that iteratively reweights a simulated dataset, using machine learning to capitalize on all available information, and works for arbitrarily high-dimensional data, and naturally incorporates information from the full phase space.

Restoration of Turbulence-Degraded Images*

TL;DR: In this paper, the amplitude and phase coefficients of the two-dimensional Fourier series representing the degraded images were corrected by applying corrections to the optical transfer function of the turbulence measured at the time the images were photographed.
