Bayesian-Based Iterative Method of Image Restoration

TLDR
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem.
Abstract
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem. The method functions effectively in the presence of noise and is adaptable to computer operation.

The High-Resolution IRAS Galaxy Atlas

TL;DR: The IRAS Galaxy Atlas as discussed by the authors provides a powerful tool for studying the interstellar medium, star formation, and large-scale structure in our Galaxy, together with the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory H(sub I) line/21 cm continuum and FCRAO CO (1-0) Galactic plane surveys.

3D mapping and accelerated super-resolution imaging of the human genome using in situ sequencing

TL;DR: OligoFISSEQ combines Oligopaints with fluorescence in situ sequencing to enable the 3D mapping of many regions across the genome in human cells to interrogate genome organization at improved genomic resolution, and is compatible with immunochemistry and OligoSTORM for super-resolution imaging.

Low Surface Brightness Hα Observations of Local Intergalactic Hydrogen Clouds

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present upper limits on the local ionizing background based on a search for extended Hα emission from three nearby intergalactic H I clouds: the Leo Ring (M96 group), both the NE and SW lobes of the Haynes-Giovanelli Virgo Cloud (H I 1225+01), and the H I tidal tails associated with the NGC 4631/4656 group.

Multi-zone imaging sensor and lens array

TL;DR: In this article, an imaging module includes a matrix of detector elements formed on a single semiconductor substrate and configured to output electrical signals in response to optical radiation that is incident on the detector elements.

Image Evaluation and Restoration

TL;DR: The extent to which the processing approaches the optimum can be evaluated by determining the fraction of the total information content of the image which can be visually extracted after processing.

Restoration of Turbulence-Degraded Images*

TL;DR: In this paper, the amplitude and phase coefficients of the two-dimensional Fourier series representing the degraded images were corrected by applying corrections to the optical transfer function of the turbulence measured at the time the images were photographed.
