Bayesian-Based Iterative Method of Image Restoration

TLDR
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem.
Abstract
An iterative method of restoring degraded images was developed by treating images, point spread functions, and degraded images as probability-frequency functions and by applying Bayes’s theorem. The method functions effectively in the presence of noise and is adaptable to computer operation.

A guide to accurate reporting in digital image processing - can anyone reproduce your quantitative analysis?

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss how proper reporting of image processing methodology improves scientific reproducibility and strengthens the biological conclusions derived from the results of an image processing workflow, and illustrate the importance of proper reporting and documentation of microscopy relevant details.

Deconvolution using CLEAN-SC for acoustic source identification with spherical microphone arrays

TL;DR: This study provides an alternative approach for acoustic source identification in three-dimensional space with better convergence, higher computational efficiency, and stronger robustness to interference such as background noise and frequency response mismatch of microphone and measurement channel.

A New Level-Set-Based Protocol for Accurate Bone Segmentation From CT Imaging

TL;DR: A new medical image segmentation pipeline for accurate bone segmentation from computed tomography (CT) imaging is proposed in this paper, a two-step methodology, with a pre-segmentation step and a segmentation refinement step, as follows.

Unsupervised Web Topic Detection Using A Ranked Clustering-Like Pattern Across Similarity Cascades

TL;DR: This paper investigates methods from the perspective of similarity diffusion, and proposes a clustering-like pattern across similarity cascades (SCs), a series of subgraphs generated by truncating a similarity graph with a set of thresholds, and then maximal cliques are used to capture topics.

Chandra Resolves the T Tauri Binary System RW Aur

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present results of a sensitive Chandra observation whose primary objective was to search for evidence of soft extended X-ray emission along the jet, as has been seen for a few other nearby T Tauri stars.

Image Evaluation and Restoration

TL;DR: The extent to which the processing approaches the optimum can be evaluated by determining the fraction of the total information content of the image which can be visually extracted after processing.

Restoration of Turbulence-Degraded Images*

TL;DR: In this paper, the amplitude and phase coefficients of the two-dimensional Fourier series representing the degraded images were corrected by applying corrections to the optical transfer function of the turbulence measured at the time the images were photographed.
